TOP BEACHES IN MALLORCA

Living on a paradise island has its perks aswell as downsides. I lived there since 2020 and felt right at home but eventually moved to Malaga end of 2024. Each corner of the island feels so different but one thing throughout is the slow paced and high quality living. Stroll around a market. Eat a long cheap lunch on the “menu del dia” and plan which beach you will visit next. Now thats the kinda life I choose. What about you?

SOME OF MY FAVOURITE BEACHES

There is an abundance of beaches and so called “calas”, small bays on the coastline of the sea. In this post I will list some of my favourites explored so far and what to think about before your visit.

Cala Mesquida – one of my favourites beaches to spend the day is this gorgeous Cala, one of the most beautiful beaches on the north/east coast of the island. Its a long and wide white sandy beach with crystalline blue, turquoise waters. It will take your breathe away. There are options to pop in to hotel bars and restaurants to grab a drink and food to take away. Bring your chair and umbrella and set up for the day.

Cala Agulla – connected to Cala Mesquida through a pedestrian walk this Cala is a total change of scenery, surrounded by pine trees and mountains with light blue waters. The perfect place for snorkeling and watersports. There is a snack bar near by and parking is easy. Right next door you have the nudist beach Cala Moltó incase you fancy a naked swim.

Cala Varques – This hidden and quite secret little gem of a place is truly stunning. Located on the easy coast of the island, its not that easy to find. You park approximately 20min walk away and pass the metal gates to walk on towards the clear turquoise waters of this cove. Right around the corner you can walk to the caves of des Pont and if you’re a dare devil you can take the 15m plunge down to the intense blue waters and swim in to the caves. There is a little bar serving drinks but bring your own snacks.

Playa des Coll Baix – Another secret and secluded beach near Alcudia, north on the island. You get there by foot and the distance of 1 mile makes it a good 45-60min hike, and parts of it tough terrain. Said to be one of the best beaches of the whole of the Balearics you will be meet with a quite different beach covered in soft stones and pristine intense blue waters. There are plenty of goats along the way too. No cafe nor bar so this place takes som planning to spend the day comfortably. Bring your snorkel.
